Dear ETFO members,
October 5 is World Teachers' Day, a day in which people around the world celebrate educators. It is also the day before the Ontario provincial election.
We have mailed a package to all schools which contains stickers that we are encouraging you to wear on World Teachers' Day—stickers that say "I vote because education matters."
The heart of our efforts in this provincial election has been to encourage people to think about education when they make their ballot choice. The party that governs the province has a profound impact on our public education system, our students’ learning conditions, and our working conditions. We have a responsibility to protect our students and their future.
We have sent you extra stickers so that you can share them with occasional teachers, support workers, and others. If you need more, your local office also has stickers.
On October 5 let’s celebrate education and educators. On October 6, let’s elect education-friendly candidates in every riding in this province.
