CONTROL YOUR FUTURE: Roadmap to Bargaining

ETFO collective agreements expire on August 31, 2012, but the process to create and renew those collective agreements – collective bargaining – has already begun in ETFO locals.
Understanding the collective bargaining process is important because the end result establishes the key conditions of your employment. In Ontario, collective bargaining takes place within a legal framework that has many steps and possible routes. That legal framework can sometimes seem complex and a little confusing. The enclosed pamphlet, Control Your Future: Roadmap to Bargaining, provides ETFO members with an easy-to-understand guide through the steps of collective bargaining.
The ongoing engagement of a well-informed ETFO membership is critical to successful collective bargaining, so please distribute a copy of the pamphlet Control Your Future: Roadmap to Bargaining to each ETFO member on staff.
For more information please visit http://www.controlyourfuture.ca/. Questions and requests to obtain additional copies of the pamphlet can be directed to Lisa Mastrobuono, extension 2512, lmastrobuono@etfo.org, at the provincial office.

Day of Pink - Wednesday, April 11, 2012
Day of Pink will mark the International Day against bullying, discrimination, homophobia, and transphobia bullying in schools and communities. Last year, elementary schools across Ontario participated in Day of Pink, and thousands of students and our members wore pink to their schools.
On April 11, 2012, we hope to see another sea of pink throughout Ontario schools and communities as we speak up to combat bullying, discrimination, homophobic, and transphobic bullying.
