PRS Matters Volume #59

Electronic Communication and Social Media: Advice to Members - This volume of PRS Matters provides important advice to members regarding the appropriate use of electronic communication within the education community. It has been written as a follow-up to the distribution of the College of Teachers Professional Advisory on the use of electronic communication and social media.

AQ Mouse Pad 

This summer more than 2,000 teachers took an Additional Qualification (AQ) or Principal’s Qualification Program (PQP) course through ETFO – making us the largest provider of additional qualifications in Ontario!

Teacher Learning and Leadership Program (TLLP)

The TLLP informationdocument provides experienced classroom teachers in Ontario’s publicly funded schools with an at-a-glance view of the program including examples of successful application. The program funds proposals from classroom teachers and provides an opportunity for teachers to engage in advanced professional learning of their choice and to share their learning with other teachers across the province.

Let’s Talk About It – Exploring Issues of Gender Equity and Violence Against Women Incentive Funding

In an endeavour to increase the level of awareness for students and teachers about issues of gender equity and violence against women in our society, we are encouraging five locals to plan conferences for boys and young men. The White Ribbon Campaign will assist in the planning of the conferences.

ETFO’s annual leadership conference for women will take place in Toronto, February 8 – 10, 2012. The theme for the conference this year is “Dare to Dream”. Further information about the conference and registration forms will be available on the ETFO website early October.

October is Women's History Month. This year, we tell the "two steps forward, one step back" story of achieving full-day early learning and care for young children in Ontario.
