In November 2017, 52 women members participated in a one-day workshop that included play-based activities from the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education Resource:
Engaging Learners Through Play (order form: PDF | Word).
The day included a presentation on culturally-relevant pedagogy and learning about First Nations, Métis and Inuit learners and the rich diversity of Indigenous Peoples. Partners from
Right To Play Canada and two ETFO member-presenters led hands-on activities that had participants up and moving. The day also included time for purposeful discussion and learning about Indigenous worldviews, treaties, residential schools and leadership.
This workshop will be offered once again in March 2018.
