ETFO at UN-CSW 55

On February 22, 2011 the 55th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women was convened at the United Nations in New York. The priority theme of this UN-CSW is Access and participation of women and girls in education, training, science and technology, including the promotion of women’s equal access to full employment and decent work.
ETFO was represented at UN-CSW by Vice-President Hilda Watkins, Vice-President Maureen Weinberger, OTF President Rian McLaughlin, and Deputy General Secretary Marilies Rettig. They were joined by over 80 union leaders from across the globe to ensure the agreements reached at this session of the United Nations will deal with the most critical issues confronting women and girls.
