This program offers workshops at the local level on a wide range of equity-related themes. The workshop flyer was distributed to local leaders at the September 2017 Leadership Training. Equity Workshop Incentive Funding of a maximum of $300 per local is offered for 20 locals to encourage equity workshop presentations for members. A minimum of 15 participants is required to run the workshop.
There are two Indigenous Education workshops available. Note that the titles will be updated to reflect language: Deconstructing Stereotypes of Indigenous Peoples and Engaging with Indigenous Families and Communities. For more information on these workshops available to ETFO Locals, please visit the Equity Workshops 2017-2018 page.
Our AQ courses are respectful of teacher professional judgement and honour adult learning principles. ETFO AQ courses provide for a superior learning experience, they are also less expensive than those offered by other providers. We are committed to making professional learning affordable for all teachers in Ontario.
ETFO AQ courses meet the guidelines set out by the Ontario College of Teachers and are accredited by the College. A couple of courses you may be interested in include: Teaching First Nations, Métis and Inuit Children and we also have a new course called Teaching LGBTQ Students. For more information on all the ETFO AQ courses and registration, visit www.etfo-aq.ca.
