On October 15th, 2010, ETFO launched its election platform entitled 'Building Better Schools' in anticipation of the provincial election scheduled for October 2011.

The purpose of the platform is to raise the profile of education issues and to engage parents and the broader public in a discussion about what’s needed to make Ontario schools the best they can be.

On May 4, ETFO representatives participated in the consultations that the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party caucus is holding with education stakeholder organizations.  ETFO’s submission focused on problems associated with teacher merit pay.
