Introduction
The 2003 ETFO Annual Meeting passed a motion in support of providing a partial subsidy to politically active members who attend the conventions and policy conferences of the main provincial and federal political parties. Interested members should read the guidelines and the subsidy claim form for more information. Application for the subsidy must be approved by the member's ETFO local.
Convention Subsidy Guidelines
ETFO will provide a subsidy of up to $500.00 for a member to attend a provincial convention or conference sponsored by one of the political parties with representation in the Ontario Legislature or the House of Commons according to the following guidelines:
- The member’s request to apply for the subsidy must be approved in writing by the member’s local.
- The member must belong to a riding association of the political party sponsoring the function or registered as a delegate.
- The member shall be prepared to sign the convention delegate claim form that includes a declaration to support the Federation’s constitution, by-laws, and policies.
- The member shall make a commitment to meet with the Federation representatives attending the function and to support the on-site lobbying activities of the Federation.
- The member will complete and submit the convention attendance report form to the Federation and provide a copy to the local.
Members must have their applications submitted to Provincial Office ten working days prior to the convention date in order to have their applications considered.
