The Mississaugas of New Credit First Nation (MNCFN) will be hosting a symposium on The Importance of Indigenous Education in Ontario Classrooms at the University of Toronto on December 7, 2018.
This gathering invites public education stakeholders to discuss the integration of Indigenous content and methodologies into the current Ontario educational curriculum. This gathering was also created in response to the Ontario Provincial Government’s cancelation of the writing sessions to develop Indigenous curriculum in Ontario schools. There will be presentations and also keynote addresses from Justice Harry LaForme of the Ontario Court of Appeal and Murray Sinclair, National Truth and Reconciliation Commissioner.
The registration fee is $20 and individuals are invited to register soon as it is on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, please visit this eventbrite web page.
