Better Pictures, Better Sound, Make A Better TVO, Teachers Say
June 29, 2006
Elementary public school teachers welcome the enhancements to TVOntario announced today by the provincial government.
"TVO is an incredibly important resource to Ontario," said Emily Noble, president of the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO).
"The switch to digital technology will bring TVO technological capability into the 21st century. It will be a tremendous help in enhancing services for Ontario teachers and students."
"The creation of a separate organization for TFO gives that service additional prominence, and recognizes the importance of French language services in Ontario," Noble said.
"We look forward to the development of new educational programming and resources that will support the work that teachers are doing in the classroom."
The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario represents 70,000 public elementary teachers and education workers across Ontario and is the largest teacher federation in Canada outside Quebec.
