Are you interested in knowing more about reflective practice? Do you want to be a member of a professional learning community? Do you want to learn how to conduct action research in your classroom or board? Do you want to hone your professional knowledge in the company of other women teachers? If you answered ‘yes’ to the above questions, you should apply to attend ... The Reflections On Practice: A Women’s Leadership Institute, is a professional learning activity that provides 30 ETFO female members with the opportunity to learn about reflective inquiry, action research, professional activism, and leadership. Participants will have the opportunity to expand their research skills. The workshop will explore:

the stigma of being poor;
issues connected to family poverty;
self-esteem; and
literacy problems and what steps teachers can take to make a difference in their schools/classrooms.

Learning and Understanding: Cultural and Religious Differences

As part of a new equity workshop series, this workshop will explore the cultural and religious practices related to world religions that teachers must understand in order to provide safe learning environments for all of their students. The workshop will highlight the key components of world religions as well as work to dispel myths, stereotypes, and prejudices that are related to cultural and religious differences.
