Arts Education for the Development of the Whole Child
Many teachers feel that the Arts are taking a back seat in elementary classrooms, despite the fact that various research studies point to the strong relationships between learning and the Arts. The Arts provide opportunities to develop creativity and imagination, and to experience joy, beauty, and wonder. Dr. Rena Upitis from Queen’s University has completed a comprehensive Arts literature review for ETFO, identifying ways of supporting and advancing an education for the development of the whole child.
