Hammond, VPs to Visit Locals to Discuss Early Learning
ETFO won a major victory in the fall when the McGuinty government announced that the new Early Learning Program would be staffed all day by qualified teachers.
The details of implementing the ELP are currently being worked out as Bill 242 winds its way through the legislative process at Queen's Park. Amendments to the bill will be announced this week.
Your provincial Executive recognizes that many members have questions and/or concerns about how full-day kindergarten will be implemented.
Meetings on the Early Learning Program are currently being scheduled in locals across the province. These will be chaired by the provincial President or one of the Vice-Presidents to provide the latest news on full-day kindergarten and to hear members' questions regarding its implementation.
Details on visits to locals will be posted on the ETFO website (www.etfo.ca) as they become available.
