	October 17-19, 2013	ETFO Provincial Office	Leaders for Tomorrow This workshop is an intensive, year-long leadership development opportunity for women from designated groups. The program includes a variety of workshops and experiences related to leadership roles within ETFO and in the broader community. The course is designed to enhance leadership skills in an inclusive, anti-racist/anti-oppression framework. Release time will be provided for all members accepted. Dates: Session 1: October 17, 18, and 19, 2013 Session 2: November 28, 29, and 30, 2013 Session 3: January 23, 24, and 25, 2014 Session 4: March 26, 27, and 28, 2014 Session 5: May 7, 8, and 9, 2014 Location: ETFO Provincial Office - 136 Isabella Street, Toronto Registration is closed. The workshop will explore:

the stigma of being poor;
issues connected to family poverty;
self-esteem; and
literacy problems and what steps teachers can take to make a difference in their schools/classrooms.

Learning and Understanding: Cultural and Religious Differences

As part of a new equity workshop series, this workshop will explore the cultural and religious practices related to world religions that teachers must understand in order to provide safe learning environments for all of their students. The workshop will highlight the key components of world religions as well as work to dispel myths, stereotypes, and prejudices that are related to cultural and religious differences.
