On May 24, 2019, ETFO responded to the second phase of the Ministry of Education's Consultation on Hiring Practices and Regulation 274. ETFO believes that any discussions about hiring practices and Regulation 274 should take place at the bargaining table. ETFO supports maintaining Regulation 274 as it provides a clear, consistent and transparent hiring process for long-term occasional (LTO) and permanent teaching positions.
