On February 1, 2010 ETFO President Sam Hammond participated in the pre-budget hearings held by the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs. The president spoke about the importance of not targeting public services or public sector employees for fiscal restraint measures.  He also outlined where the government could find savings through scaling back on or eliminating elements of the EQAO testing and the Ministry of Education's literacy and numeracy initiatives.
