Welcome to ETFO Booklet
September 24, 2024
Welcome New Members of ETFO!
With over 83,000 members, the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) is the largest educator union in Canada. When you accepted your position with your school board, you became an ETFO member and part of our collective strength, enthusiasm, and commitment to each other and our profession.
ETFO strives to serve our members in several ways. As a union, we defend our members and workplace rights through bargaining and advocacy. As a professional organization, we deliver a wide range of personal and professional development, as well as leadership and training opportunities.
Download the Welcome to ETFO booklet for an overview of ETFO's structure, membership services and supports, information on benefits and insurance coverage, and volunteer opportunities in the union. The strength of ETFO is in its active membership, so get involved and show your union pride!
Let others know you are a member of ETFO by adding the “I am ETFO” shareable to your personal email signature or social media accounts. Download: Shareable 1, Shareable 2.
For almost 30 years, ETFO has fought for – and won – many improvements to working conditions for our members through assertive collective bargaining and proactive political lobbying. Watch this video documenting the history of ETFO. Below you’ll find information and links to help you get to know your union better.
